I fully understand this will not be for everyone. Dickens lovers may not approve but I really enjoyed it. We all know the story of how a miserly businessman Is visited from his deceased partner and then the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future and while the names remain the same the story is very different from previous adaptations of Dickens Christmas classic. Set in the traditional Victorian London it's an extremely dark at times scary piece but never fails to keep you gripped. Guy Pierce is brilliant as Scrouge and the support cast lead by the ever reliable Stephen Grahame are all terrific. Give it a go and judge for yourself. 8/10
