Worth it only for Simon

Simon Fruhwirth is the only thing saving this movie which qualifies as one of the artsy-ist coming out movies ever. A 17 year old ponders life, sex, love, death and the cosmos is this film that is at times beautiful to look at , expertly shot, but ultimately frustrating. There is not much dialogue but what there is , tends to be kind of unrealistic and juvenile, actually bringing the movie down. There are lots of flashing lights, so much so that the film carries a warning for epileptics, and starts off well, then just kind of descends into confusion and nightmarish sequences. While Simon as Jakob is excellent, Paul Forman in the other lead is not and his part seems badly written. Their scenes together do not work and as a whole the movie is interesting but does not work either. Worth a one time watch but could have been so much better.
