Quite Different

First, many low reviews mostly about the violence or sex. Yes, a bit violent, but not that much & they end quickly albeit goringly. Although, right off the bat we start w/a fox hunt scene w/hounds ripping it apart while hunters have a celebratory drink. Very little sex, and relative to most films basically nothing is shown. Second, very good CGI of mid 1900s streets. The dating of this story at times seem inconsistent, but I would guess late '50s early '60s. Great background song choices. Third, characters do have interesting personalities w/twists. Bet Sykes is the most intriguing. Physically our lead investigator does't seem like a plausible hand to hand fighter, and his cohorts a little too chubby to do likewise. Fourth, plot is usual evil mysterious entities out to transform government. One is called "No Name"; labeled as liberal softhearted do-gooders. The other, called "Raven", are the conservative nasties. Highlight is another film made infamous fake nose rearing its snoutly proboscis. Fifth, the dialect of some characters from northeastern England adds to the film's ambiance to those in most other English speaking countries.
